OMONDO COLLECTIVE

The Omondo collective was Established at the beginning of 2020. Based in the Copenhagen-Malmö area, all four artists come from all corners of the diaspora, from Uganda, Guinea, Jamaica,
and the US.
The collective was formed with the intent to combine knowledge and practices from each artists’ unique interpretations of R&B and hip hop. Each artist has their own unique sound, providing a dynamic and exciting musical experience.

DJAVAN
Is a singer and songwriter, originally hailing from New York. drawing on her classical training and the sonic backgrounds of her childhood, her music developed into a detail-oriented and harmonic- based approach to hip hop and r&b. The sound favours boom-bap style percussions, combined with fingerpicking guitar; mindful cadences, and self-reflective and emotive lyricism.

ELIJAH OKELLO
Elijah Okello Is an Independent artist born in Uganda raised in DK.
He started releasing music in January 2018; since then much has happened to the soulful hip-hop crooner. Having played just over 30 concerts and released an EP on his own label “OK OK ENT.” Elijah has established a foundation and is now ready to reach new heights. His expression is nostalgic, electronic and exciting. The music is inspired by classic soul mixed with modern Hip Hop and electronic synth-funk.

PETAH MOODIE
Petah is an independent artist born and raised in the ghettos of Kingston,
Jamaica. His songs have been played on both Danish and Swedish radio. In 2018 he did his first concert as Petah Moodie, and since then he has made the crowd jump from Lund to Christiania. With a mix of electronic and analogue sounds as his signature, his soundscape is uniquely defined by DR P3 as “a long, warm hug on a cold frosty Monday!” before further hinting “If you love Frank Ocean, listen to ‘I Need You’”. Moodie’s songs are catchy and memorable, probably being stuck in your head for days. At concerts, he has the crowd singing along before the song is over.

SOLEIL
With a smooth soulful, and modern dance vibe, the Sweden based Artist, Dj and Producer Soleil Camara puts you in a groove you just can’t stand still to. Starting off as a reggae artist, and moving on to Hip Hop, R&B, and further to UK Garage and EDM, his music has become a fusion of all these genres that clearly shines through the unique sound that he managed to create. If you are a fan of Kaytranada, Jared Jackson and Zikomo you will definitely like this.
